In honor of 90 years of Panhellenic on Auburn University’s campus, each week Panhellenic will be spotlighting one chapter of our 18 sororities.
This week we will be featuring Delta Gamma.
Delta Gamma’s symbol is the anchor, their colors are bronze, pink and blue. Their motto is “Do Good”. Delta Gamma was chartered on Auburn’s campus in 1973.
Delta Gamma hosts two philanthropy events every year in the fall and spring semesters.
Each Spring Delta Gamma hosts Milk & Cookies, which is
an all you can eat cookie event. This past spring’s event raised $15,063.
In the Fall, Delta Gamma hosts Anchor Splash.
This is synchronized swimming competition where on campus organizations are coached by DG's and compete. The event includes a belly flop competition, a "Save a DG" relay
race, best eyes competition, and the main event -- the synchronized swimming routines.
This Fall Delta Gamma raised $17,595.64.
Both events raise money for Delta Gamma’s philanthropy, Service for Sight. There are five schools funded by Service for Sight for children with visual impairments.
Delta Gamma has been awarded the Patricia Peterson Danielson Award, which recognizes chapters demonstrating overall achievement of excellence in all areas of chapter life, 11 times with 9 consecutive wins. Delta Gamma was also awarded the Excellence in Chapter Administration Award this past year in their region.
This February, selected Delta Gamma members traveled to the Delta Gamma Executive Offices in Columbus, Ohio and attended the Delta Gamma Institute.
