In honor of 90 years of Panhellenic on Auburn University’s campus, each week Panhellenic will be spotlighting one chapter of our 18 sororities.
This week we will be featuring Alpha Gamma Delta.
Alpha Gamma Delta’s mascot is the squirrel, their colors are red, buff, and green. Their motto is “Live with purpose”.
Alpha Gamma Delta hosts two philanthropy events each semester for their philanthropy which focus on "Fighting Hunger." Wing Jam, an annual Fall philanthropy event; is a battle of the bands competition, with the added bonus of unlimited wings. Java Jam is in the Spring which is a coffeehouse-style event featuring live music, coffee, tea, and pastries.
Alpha Gamma Delta has been awarded the Annulet, the highest honor a chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta can receive. They receive this at Alpha Gamma Delta's National Convention countless times, many won before the 1960s and 1970s that are not recorded on electronic record.
The Gamma Delta chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta at Auburn University has been a recipient of the Annulet Award, the highest honor a chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta can receive. They receive this at Alpha Gamma Delta's National Convention for 10 consecutive years now. (From 2008-2018).
Alpha Gamma Delta also received this honor in 1975, 1977, 1981-1987, 1989, 1991, 1993, 1995-1997, 1999, and 2004-2006 as well as many before the 1960s and 1970s that are not recorded on electronic record.
This year at the 2018 National Convention, Alpha Gamma Delta were awarded the
Recruitment Excellence Award, Impacting the World Award, Most Improved Financial Support Award, Rose Bowl Award for Academic Excellence, and the Annulet.
Most recently, Alpha Gamma Delta members have included Miss Auburn 2017, Miss
Homecoming 2017, Miss Homecoming 2018 and the 2019-2020 SGA President. The chapter represents 130 on-campus organizations, with 18 organizational presidents. Alpha Gamma Delta won Greek Sing in 2017 with the dance, “Running Down the Aisle”. Lastly, Alpha Gamma Delta has been #1 in grades for all of Greek Life at Auburn University for 22 consecutive years.
