"Auburn Panhellenic, the friends I’ve made in it, and the experiences I’ve had through it have been some of my most cherished parts of my college experience. This past summer, I got to study abroad in Madrid, Spain for one month and Paris, France for the other due to a Panhellenic scholarship. Seeing the world has always been a dream of mine, I can remember being a little girl and wanting to go to Paris. Auburn Panhellenic gave me the opportunity to see my dreams become a reality. Studying languages can be hard in the states because you’re not fully immersed, but being in those countries, fully immersed in the language, culture, and way of life was life changing. Now I feel like pieces of my heart are scattered across the globe- in Madrid with my host mom Manuela, on a boat in Lake Zürich, Switzerland, with the wonderful food in Brussels, at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and with all the amazing people I met along the way. It was the summer of a lifetime- one I will never forget!"
Panhellenic scholarship applications can be found on AUSOM and are due Thursday, February 1st at 4:45pm.
On March 23, Kappa Kappa Gamma hosted their second Kappa Con Queso event outside their chapter room!
For $5, students could eat unlimited chips and queso, and all the proceeds went to benefit their national philanthropy, Reading is Fundamental. RIF supplies books and other reading tools to children in need across the country to improve literacy among our youth.
Congratulations Kappa Kappa Gamma on Kappa Con Queso's success! It was quite the fiesta!
This year Kappa Kappa Gamma held their first ever Kappa Con Queso. Kappa Con Queso was a night of unlimited chips, queso, salsa, and guacamole!
This new philanthropy event supports Kappa's philanthropy "Reading is Fundamental." Reading is Fundamental (or RIF) helps donate books to children across the nation to encourage literacy and learning. Each year, RIF donates more and more books to different schools and organizations helping children learn to read. Here in Auburn there is a RIF warehouse where Kappa participates hands on in packing boxes to be distributed.
Kappa Con Queso proved to be a hit as they raised over $2,000 to donate towards their philanthropy. Students across came to support the event by paying for unlimited queso and salsa. Seeing the success, Kappa plans to continue this event in the coming years in hopes of expanding it more and more.
